AYURVEDIC TREATMENTS

Ayurveda was developed more than 5000 years ago by highly spiritual beings and means the ‘knowledge of life and longevity’. The aim of all ayurvedic treatments is to bring harmony and re-establish physical, mental and spiritual health. Treatments focus on the cause of problems to give permanent health solutions, rather than combating symptoms. The core of ayurveda is massage using essential oils, natural herbs and plants.

OSTEOPATHY

Osteopathic Treatment is a natural hands-on work for the patient’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. It is unique in treating the spiritual body where the root cause of most illness is located today. Performed by a trained Osteopath,it is one of the most comprehensive forms of bodywork available. Through their trained sense of touch, Osteopaths can feel the patient’s history of health, illness and physical injury since conception and birth as restrictions or strains in the patient’s body that prevent normal movement . During the treatment, the patient lies fully clothed on a massage table .Prior to treatment a full body analysis is done .A balanced treatment adresses the patients head his organs and the muscolosceletal system. The patient’s body responds by slowly releasing or unwinding the restrictions so that energy and fluids can flow, and their tissues, bones, joints and organs can move and function properly. Osteopathic tratment is very effective for both acute (recent) and chronic (long-standing) medical conditions. It is especially helpful in treating chronic or degenerative medical conditions that modern conventional medicine has difficulty in treating. Almost any illness can be treated as primary or supportive therapy, but people most often receive treatments for headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, sciatica, TMJ syndrome, arthritis or joint pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, learning disorders, stress, anxiety, depression and traumatic injuries and sports injuries.

The style of Osteopathic work we offer here has it s accentuation on first centering the patients body to increase the self healing capacity and health before working on a pathological condition. This new approach in Osteopathy allows the body to integrate the treatment very well.

LOMI LOMI MASSAGE

Lomi Lomi massage technique is one of the oldest and most profound forms of massage. The word Lomi Lomi means “massage therapy” or simply “Hawaiian massage”. It is a unique healing massage derived from the ancient Polynesians and more specifically the master healers of Hawaii. To understand what is Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage is to have an understanding of the Hawaiian philosophy called Huna, and how the philosophies of Huna relate to bodywork and healing. A fundamental assumption of Huna is that everything seeks harmony and everything seeks love. When harmony is lacking the effect is pain physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. Illness is a state of tension, which leads to resistance which blocks energy movement.Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage helps release this and therefore facilitates the road to healing. On the physical level, through Lomi Lomi stress and tension are relieved, blood and lymph flow assisted and the elimination of wastes and toxins stimullated.

HEALING THROUGH TOUCH

gentle Ayurvedic and Thai fusion
The hands are soft and strong, flowing in a dance, talking and equally listening to the body of the receiver. The strokes are long, sweeping and very slowed down. Interacting in between the Nadis (energetic channels) and the meridians of the body, alternating from a gentle touch to pressure points or to insertion of subtle energies, this massage allows the body to relax and at the same time it is stimulated and revived.

SHANTALA BABY MASSAGE

The most beneficial habits should naturally be created first, which is why Ayurveda so passionately advocates massage for everyone, and particularly for infants. New babies need regular massage. Babies in India are massaged for up to a years after they are born, and most traditions of mother and child care for at least 40 days after delivery. Baby massage stimulates the growing immune and nervous systems, and provides critical emotional nourishment. Some modern research suggests that premature infants who receive regular massage gain more weight and thrive more efficiently than do their peers who are not massaged. Oil massage is food for the baby’s skin and nerves. It strengthens the skin, improves its color and texture, and makes it soft and smooth. for massage oil, but almond, olive, sunflower, or coconut oilcan also used, according to climate and availability. What I try to share with this therapy is that it is a very special and sacred moment between mother and baby offering a moment of divine love … plus I also do reiki on babies and use the sound of the bowls.
